What is Supported Independent Living?
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is a funded support service that helps participants live as independently as possible. It provides assistance with daily tasks such as cooking, cleaning, personal care, and developing essential life skills. SIL is the support, not the home itself, and can be delivered in shared or private residences.
Who is SIL Designed to Support?
SIL supports people who need regular, personalised assistance to navigate daily life successfully. It is ideal for participants with higher support needs, including intellectual, physical, or psychosocial disabilities, or those seeking greater independence on their own or with others.
